Depression and anxiety are significant mental health conditions affecting pregnant women and new mothers. Stigma surrounding these conditions, can lead to underdiagnosis and inadequate support.
Kuzaa is hosting an Arts and Design Competition to raise awareness of and reduce stigma through creative expressions.

Visual arts encompass art forms like painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, and mixed media, emphasizing aesthetics, creativity, and personal expression through a variety of styles and techniques.
Multimedia integrates text, graphics, audio, video, and interactive elements to convey information or create art, resulting in immersive works like digital installations, interactive exhibits, and multimedia performances.
Digital art involves creating artwork using computers and software, including digital painting, illustration, photo manipulation, 3D modeling, and animation, blending traditional and digital techniques to enhance and manipulate images.
The Arts and Design Competition aims to raise awareness and support for maternal mental health through creative expression. We encourage participants to create artwork that reflects the themes of maternal mental health and well-being, and the challenges faced by pregnant women and mothers in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).
The competition is open to Young Africans across the Globe ages 18-29 years.

No, there are no entry fees. Participation in the Kuzaa Arts and Design Competition is free.
Entries will be judged based on:
A panel of judges comprising artists, perinatal women with lived experience, mental health professionals, and community leaders will review all submissions.

Yes, participants may submit a maximum of two(2) entries.
Winners will be announced on the Kuzaa website and social media channels.
Notifications will also be sent directly to the winners via email.
